Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantastic Blue and White Pitcher and Bowl in the Basketweave and Morning Glory Pattern.
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty features a Basketweave Pattern on the Pitcher and the Rim of the Bowl, with an additional Morning Glory Vine on Each Side of the Pitcher. This example still retains a lot of the original gold trim on the rim of the pitcher and bowl and on the outline of the morning glory on the front of the pitcher. The pitcher stands 10 1/4" tall and the bowl is 15 1/2" wide.
This set is discussed in Terry Taylor and Terry and Kay Lowrance, Collector's Encylopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, pp. 201-202.
Excellent Condition. The pitcher has some minor chips on the underside of the footer which appear to be mainly in the making. Otherwise no rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. The bowl is as made. No damage.
