Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Blue and White Basketweave and Daisy Butter Crock with Original Lid.
This butter is described in Terry Taylor and Terry and Kay Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, p. 106. As you know, not a common butter crock.
This beauty featues a Basketweave Background that Hosts Four Daisies, the Back Two of Cross their Stems. The lid repeats the basketweave pattern and boasts a daisy on the knob. Measures 4 1/2" tall and 6 1/2" across the top.
Excellent Condition. The base is as made. A chip on the bottom of one daisy stem in the back in the making. The lid only has a couple minor pinhead-size nibbles on the edge.
