    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Quart Blue and White Spongeware Maple Syrup Jug made and signed on the bottom "Mf'g'd by F. H. Weeks, Akron, O. Style XXX Pat. Pending."


    This is the work of Frederick Weeks who ran the pottery in Akron from the early 1870's and in partnership with his brother in the late 1870's (F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware, pp. 51-52). 


    This beauty features a Fancy Molded and Decorative Top, Leaf Handle Holders with Bail Handle, and Overall Deep Cobalt Blue Sponging on a White Glaze.  Plenty of sharp contrast here!  Stands 5 1/4" tall.


    Very Good Condition.  A flat 3/8" chip on the top of the left side of the spout.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
