Being offered to you today is a Blue and Gray Stoneware Egg Bucket used to collect and store eggs from the hen house.
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty is molded to appear as though it was made of staves on a wooden bucket. The blue and white stripes simulate metal hoops. Comes with the original bail handle.. Measures 5" tall and 6 1/2" wide across the top.
This is an uncommon piece. You can see it featured in Taylor and Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, p. 180.
Excellent Condition. A shallow and narrow 3/4" chip on one side of one of the handle holders. No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
