    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug stamped "Bergen & Foy."


    This merchant had this jug made by William Roberts, son-in-law of Noah White of Whites Utica Pottery. He founded a branch of the family business in Binghamton in 1848 and ran it until 1888 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 71)


    This beauty features the Merchant Named Stamped on the Shoulder with Cobalt Wash, and a Folky Dotted Bird on a Branch Decoration.  This birdy has a distinctive face, wing and tail feathers, and dotted breast.  The branch is very detailed too.  Stands 11 1/4" tall.  


    Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  Kiln touch of the front on the making.
