Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Gorgeous Stoneware Preserve Jar made and stamped on the shoulder by the "Beaumont Pottery, York, Maine" and scratched on the bottom with a cross, the initials JB, and the date 1980.

This is the work of Jerry Beaumont, a contemporary master potter.  In my experience, his work ranks supreme among the contemporary potters and is escalating in value.

This beauty features the pottery stamp and a Stag Standing in Ground Cover and Flanked by Pine Trees.   All the decoration is created with a slip cup in vivid cobalt and accented throughout.  Exceptionally rich and shiny.  Stands 9 1/2" tall.

The decoration closely resembles that of the works of the Norton Pottery of Bennington, Vermont in the mid-9th century.

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.
