Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Gorgeous Stoneware 2 Gallon Jar made and stamped on the shoulder by the "Beaumont Pottery, York, Maine" and scratched on the bottom with a cross, the date 1988, the signature "Jerry Beaumont", and #83 of 100.

This is the work of Jerry Beaumont, a contemporary master potter.  In my experience, his work ranks supreme among the contemporary potters and is escalating in value.

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp on the Shoulder, and an Old Man with a Lincoln Hat and Long Beard Seated in a Chair on a Braided Rug, with His Cat on his Lap.  The decoration was executed with a slip cup in vivid cobalt.   Very intriguing Folk Art.  Stands 12 1/4" tall or about 2 gallons.

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.
