Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Gorgeous Little Stoneware Jar made and stamped on the shoulder by the "Beaumont Pottery, York, Maine" and scratched on the bottom with a cross, the date 1988, and the initials LM.

This is the work of Jerry Beaumont, a contemporary master potter.  In my experience, his work ranks supreme among the contemporary potters and is escalating in value.

This beauty features the pottery stamp and a Lion that Fills the Front.   All the decoration is created with a slip cup in vivid cobalt and accented throughout.  Exceptionally rich and shiny.  Stands 5" tall.

The decoration closely resembles that of Bennington, Vermont and Rochester, New York potters in the late 19th century, particularly Norton and Burger.

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.
