Item 5118
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Gorgeous Stoneware 1 Gallon Jar made and stamped on the shoulder by the "Beaumont Pottery, York, Maine" and scratched on the bottom with a cross.
This is the work of Jerry Beaumont, a contemporary master potter. In my experience, his work ranks supreme among the contemporary potters and is escalating in value.
Dating to the 1980's, this beauty features the Pottery Stamp and a Chicken Pecking Corn Decoration. All the decoration was executed with a slip cup on bright cobalt blue, and I mean BRIGHT! Stands 8 3/4" tall.
The chicken pecking corn decoration was popular with potters in Bennington, Vermont and Fort Edward and Ellenville, New York in the 1880's.
