• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Preserve Jar made for the "Bauer Bros., 215 Centre, St., N.Y."


    It was made and stamped by "C. Haidle, Union Pottery, Newark, N.J."  Conrad Haidle and his partner, John Sonn, who ran this pottery together in Newark from 1871-1875 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 82).


    This beauty features the pottery stamp at the shoulder and Four Lines of Fancy Cobalt Script.  Stands 9 1/2" tall.


    Excellent Condition.  Six minor nibbles on the inner rim (1/8" to pinhead size), and two chips on the underside at the edge (1/4", 1").  That's it!  No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Please view the full gallery of pictures as part of the description.
