Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Decorated Jar made and stamped by "B. C. Milburn."

This is the stamp of Benedict Calvert Milburn who ran the old Wilkes Street Pottery once owed by H. C. Smith from 1841-1867 (Eddie Wilder, Alexandria, Virginia Pottery 1792-1876, pages 179-289).

This beauty features a Strong Maker's Stamp, Tall Floral on the Front, and Leaves on the Back.  The front flower has a stem with three kinds of leaves and a circular blossom with dotted center.   Stands 11" tall.

Good Condition.  A chip on the back in the making that created a nearly invisible 8" hairline from 1 PM to 7 PM that does not reach top or bottom and is too fine to photograph (closeup 1).  A crow's foot on the bottom (closeup 2).  No rim or base chips, stains, or restoration.
