Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 1/2 Gallon Decorated Jar made and stamped by "B. C. Milburn, Alexa."
This is the stamp of Benedict Calvert Milburn who ran the old Wilkes Street Pottery once owed by H. C. Smith from 1841-1867 (Eddie Wilder, Alexandria, Virginia Pottery 1792-1876, pages 179-289).
This beauty features a Strong Maker's Stamp and a Brushed Cobalt Garland of Dangling Tulips Around the Shoulder. Stands 10 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. Two chips on the left handle (3/4", 7/8") and one on the right (1/2"), and three chips along the bottom edge (3/8" to 3/4"). No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
