• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Cake Crock made and stamped by "A. O. Whittemore, Havana, N.Y."


    This is the work of A. O. Whittemore who potted in Havana from 1862-1893 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 72).


    This beauty features the pottery stamp with cobalt wash and Fancy Bird Facing Left with Detailed Feathers and Elaborate Branch.  Lots of folk art appeal here!   Measures 8 1/4" tall and 13 1/4" wide across the top.  


    Very Good Condition.   Some glaze chips inside at the bottom, a 1" narrow chip on the rim in the front, and a 3 1/2" hairline from the rim in the back (closeup).  No inner rim or base chips, stains, or restoration.  A 1/2" straw void on the rim in the front and a stone ping on the base in the making.   


    A large cake crock with folk art bird!
