Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon 3 Gallon Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "A. DeHaven, Middlebury."
This jug is attribued to Abram DeHaven of Middlebury, Ohio who potted in the mid-19th century (F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware, p. 48).
This beauty features an early Ovoid Form, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Double Tulip Decoration. Stands 16 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A flat 1/4" chip on the top of the handle and on the bottom. That's it! No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A salt drip on the left side in the making.
