Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this great 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug that reads, "Use A. Davis Ashley's Honey Balsam."


The jug was made and stamped "F. T. Wright & Son, Stoneware,Taunton, Mass." This is the mark of the Franklin T. Wright and his son who ran their pottery from 1866 to the 1870's (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 50).


This beauty features a Clear Pottery Stamp and a Stenciled Cobalt Label with Center Ornamentation. Stands 11 1/2" tall.


Not a merchant or product I have ever seen before.


Excellent Condition. As made. No damage of any kind. Some surface drying lines on the left side of the handle (closeup), and a 1/2" chip at the bottom of the left side-- all in the making and glazed over.
