    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "A. Conrad, New Geneva, Fayette Co., Pa."


    Alexander Conrad ran the pottery in New Geneva from 1870-1882 before moving to Shinnston, WV (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 164-65).


    Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features the Wax Sealer Form, Finely Tooled Rim, Tapered Sides, and the Company Name and Address Accented by Doodads.  Stands 9 1/2" tall. 


    Excellent Condition. A half dozen 1/4" chips inside the top rim from use, and a few faint water glass stains outside.  That's it!  No inside rim, outer top rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
