    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "A. Conrad, New Geneva, Fayette Co., Pa."


    Alexander Conrad ran the pottery in New Geneva from 1870-1882 before moving to Shinnston, WV (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 164-65).


    Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features the Wax Sealer Form, and the Company Name and Address Accented by Florals.  Stands 10" tall. 


    Excellent Condition. A few minor nibbles in the inner rim as shown, and three small and narrow chips on the top edge (1/8" to 1/4").  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Faint 2" line on the base in the firing.
