Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Decorated Stoneware Jar.

This jar is easily attributed to Richard Remmey who made stoneware in Philadelphia at the family pottery from the 1860's to the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-9).

Circa 1870, this beauty features a Finely Tooled Rim and Three Leaves around the Middle.  Each leaf has 6 or 7 brushstrokes of strong cobalt blue.  Gorgeous cobalt too!  Stands 9" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Two pinhead-size nibbles and two 3/8" chips on the rim, and two 1/4" flakes on the underside at the edge.  That's it!  No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
