Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this superb 6" Wax Sealer Canning Jar from Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Circa 1870 this beauty features the Stove Pipe Form with Tooled Rim and an Urn of Flowers. The urn has two handles, shoulder trim, and a small footer. The flowers include a rose, a couple tulips, and lots of buds and leaves. The stencil is clear and the cobalt rich. Stands 6" tall.
This decoration is one of the best produced in SW Pennsylvania stoneware for detail and interest.
Excellent Condition. Three pinhead-size nibbles on the inner rim, a similar nibble and 1/4" surface ping line on the rim in the back, and a 3/8" chip on the underside at the edge in the back. That's it! no hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
