    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 6 Gallon Freehand Decorated Jar.


    The distinctive decoration and the capacity "6" stamp on the back make it easy to attribute to the Thompson Pottery of Morgantown, West Virginia.


    Dating around 1860, this beauty features Two Stripes that Frame an Elaborate Vine with A Dangling Flower at the Top, and Another Elaborate Vine Below the Fills the Front.  A small tornado completes the decoration at the bottom.  Lots of fancy decorating here!  Stands 16 3/4" tall.


    Very Good Condition.  Six small chips inside the rim (1/8" to 3/8"). A faint 4" horizontal line 1" from the base on front bottom that wraps under as a 3" line.  One stain.  No outer rim, handle, or base chips, cracks, or restoration.
