Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 6 Gallon Crock with Large Floral.
The floral indicates that this crock was made by William and Gilbert Ottman who ran the company in Fort Edward, N.Y. from 1872-1892 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 68).
This beauty sports a Large Size and a Large Floral Bouquet with "Eyes" in the Ottman fashion. Bold and shiny cobalt. Measures 13 1/2" tall and 14" wide across the top.
Good Condition. Two minor 3/8" chips inside the rim, a 3" chip on the bottom of the right side, and two extremely fine vertical in-body hairlines not reaching top or bottom. One is 6" on the front right (closeup 1- to the right of the ruler) and the other is 5" behind the right handle (closeup 2- to the right of the ruler). These are nearly invisible. No outer rim chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
