Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 6 3/4" Stoneware Wax Sealer with Five Stripes.
It is attributed to Isaac Hewitt of Rices Landing, Pennsylvania who ran his pottery in the 1860's and 1870's.
This beauty features the Stove Pipe Form Wax Sealer Form with Tooled and Grooved Rim, and 5 Freehand Cobalt Stripes Alternating Straight and Squiggle Down the Front. Hewitt is known for this very effective visual design. Stands 6 3/4" tall.
Good Condition. A 3/8" chip on the inner rim, three small chips inside the top rim (1/8" to 1/2"), and a faint U-shaped hairline at the base. No outer rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
Comes with an original tin lid from the period!
