Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 6 1/2" Ovoid Jug.
This beauty is readily attributed to Frederick Carpenter who worked in Charlestown from 1800-1812 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 48-49).
This little guy features an Ovoid Form with Tall Spout, Incribed Shoulder, and Iron Oxide Dip Covered with Salt Glaze.
Very Good Condition. A 1/4" chip inside the spout and some small, shallow flakes on the underside. No hairlines, cracks, stains or restoration. A stone ping on the front to the left in the making.
