Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous 5 Gallon Crock made in the Midwest around 1880.
This beauty features a very Distinctive Decoration with a Fancy Capacity Number accented by Delicate Dots and Dashes, and a Floral with Two Center Leaves Framed by Dots, Dashes, and Curly-Cues. The leaves are reminiscent of Burger stoneware of Rochester NY and the Curly-Cues of Edmands stoneware from Charlestown, MA. All the decoration was applied with a slip cup in very fine and skilled lines. Measues 12" tall and 12" wide across the top.
One of the nicest Midwestern crocks I have seen in a quite a while.
Excellent Condition. Some faint staining on the back. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
