Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Profusely Decorated 3 Gallon Jar from Baltimore, Maryland.
It is attributed to William Linton, an associate of David Perine, who made stoneware in Baltimore from 1845-1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 98).
This beauty features a Large Plant on Each Side that has Two Blossoming Stems. Each of the four stems has two clusters of leaves and a blossom with about a dozen petals. A lot of work went into this decoration leaving little empty space. Stands 14 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A couple 1/4" flakes at the base. That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
