Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Preserve Jar Crock.


The decoration indicates that it was likely made by F. B. Norton & Co., Worcester, Massachusets.  Frank Norton and Frederick Hancock operated the pottery in Worcester from 1856 to 1868 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , pp. 52-53).


This beauty features the Preserve Jar Form with a Double Cobalt Plume with Center Tornado, a typical Norton decoration.  Strong cobalt blue.  Measures 12" tall.  


Very Good Condition.  Six chips inside the top rim (1/8" to 3/8"), a 1" chip on the rim in the back, and some light staining from use.  No seating rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
