Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this handsome 2 Gallon Stoneware Pitcher.
The decoration on this pitcher makes it is easy to attribute to William and Charles Wingender of Haddonfield, N.J. They ran the pottery in Haddonfield from 1883 to 1923. This is an earlier work as its salt glaze and cobalt brushed decoration attest.
This beauty features a Brushed Dangling Floral on the Front, one of Wingender's signature decorations. The flower is executed in a very bright cobalt blue. Uncommon 2 gallon size too! Measures 13 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. As made condition. No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains or restoration. A 1/2" clay void on the underside edge, and two 2" surface-only line on the bottom of the left and right sides (closeup), both in the making (one from a stone ping on the underside edge).
