Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Salt Glaze Crock with a Plant Decoration.

The decoration indicates that this crock is likely the work of Edward and Thomas Edmands who ran the pottery in Charlestown, Massachusetts from 1852-1868 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 49).

This beauty features a Plant with 8 Leaves and 5 Blossoms.  Pretty cobalt with no fry.  Measures 9 1/2" tall and 9 3/4" wide across the top.

Excellent Condition.  A 1/4" chip inside the rim and right handle terminal.  Some very fine pinhead-size glaze flazes and light staining around the base.  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A large 2" stoneware ping to the right of the decoration in the making (closeup).
