Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Cake Crock attributed to Richard Remmey of Philadelphia.
Richard Remmey ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Dating to the 1860's, this beauty features a Tooled Rim, Inscribed Shoulder, and a Garland of Brushed Cobalt Tulips Around the Middle. Additional cobalt on the handle terminals. Measures 6 3/4" tall and 10 1/4" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. Four chips outside the rim (1/4" to 3/8"). That's it! No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
