Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 12" Blue and White Spongeware Bowl.
It was made around 1900 by the Pfaltzgraff Company of York, Pennsylvania. It was part of a nesting set.
This beauty has a double rim so that a covering can be tied over the top, four heart-shaped panels around the outside, tall footer, and a rich and controlled cobalt sponging on the top and bottom. Measures 6" tall and 11" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A few minor nibbles on the rim on one side (photo 4). That's it! No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Lightly used. Tripod marks inside at the bottom and two small stone pings inside (1/8", 1/4")-- all in the making.
