Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Monumental 10 Gallon Water Cooler attributed to the Massillon Stoneware Company of Massillon, OH.

The Massillon Stoneware Company began in the mid 1880's to the early 20th century (F. Robert Treichler, More History of Ohio Stoneware, pp. 44-49).  A very similar 20 gallon double-handled jug is pictured there on p. 48 and is included above.

Dating around 1885, this beauty features a Tall and Slender Form with Double-Handles and a Huge Daisy with Five Petals and a Stem with 8 Loops.  Stands 27" tall.

Comes with an old wooden spigot.

Excellent Condition.  The bottom of the frame around the spigot hole is gone, either in the making or because it was placed slightly too low on the jug and was quickly broken off from use.  That's it!  No spout or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Some kiln marks in the making.

Ships double-boxed, insured, and FREE.  Buyers west of the Mississippi, please add $35 additional for shipping.
