    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar attributed to R. J. Grier of Chester County, Pennsylvania.


    Ralph Grier and family ran a pottery in Mount Jordan, Chester County, Pennsylvania from the 1840's to 1910 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 12-13).


    Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Carefully Tooled Rim to Allow a Covering to be Tied Under the Rim, and Three Brushed Cobalt Leaves in the Distinctive Grier Style.  Measures 10" tall.


    Excellent Condition.  A flat 1/4" flake on top of the rim.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
