Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar attributed to Henry Remmey, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA.

Henry Remmey, Jr. ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1820's to the 1850's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners , pp. 8-10).

Circa 1840, this beauty features a Tall and Narrow Form, Rolled Rim, Incised Shoulder, and Three Brushed Cobalt Tulips around the Middle. This is a very pleasing and identifiable Remmey decoration.   Stands 11" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A couple small and light stains from use.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  What looks like a chip at the base is a dot of cobalt.
