Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Decorated Butter Crock.
It is hard ot attribute, but my best surmise is that it is from New Jersey. It has similarities to the work of Noah Furman of Cheesequake and Schiock and Dunn of Middletown Point.
Dating around 1880, this beauty features a Squared Rim with Shoulder Band and Four Cobalt Leaves Around the Middle. A warm gray coloration and dark cobalt make for an inviting contrast. Measures 4 1/4" tall and 8 1/4" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. A few very minor nibbles inside the rim, four chips outside the rim (1/8" to 3/8"), and a faint 1" hairline above one leaf (photo 1). No base chips, stains, or restoration.
