Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar with Sprig of Violets from Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Dating around 1870 this beauty features Two Top and One Bottom Stripe that Frame an Elaborate Sprig of Violets. One of the nicest floral decorations on a jar from this region and one I seldom ever see. Stands 9 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A half dozen minor nibbles on the bottom fold of the tooled rim (1/8" or so), a 5/8" chip on the bottom of the right side, and a couple small, light stains. No top rim or base chips, hairlnes, cracks, or restoration.
