Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Blue Decorated Jar.
This jar is easily attributed to Richard Remmey who made stoneware in Philadelphia at the family pottery from the 1860's to the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-9).
Circa 1865, this beauty features a Garland of Three Sideways Florals Around the Middle. Each floral has four leaves and a blossom with seven petals. Broad strokes of cobalt comprise the decoration. Stands 10 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A 3/4" chip on the outside of the rim. That's it! No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
