R. W. Russell 3 Gallon Jar with Double Fuchsias
Ready to add to your growing collection of quality stoneware is this Gorgeous 3 GallonJar made and stamped by R. W. Russell. This is the mark of Ralph Russell who ran the pottery in Beaver Pa. in the 1840's to his death in 1868.
This beauty features a the potter's mark [the "R" is very light] and Brushed Cobalt Freehand Double Fuchsia. The stem has 14 leaves and the two fushsia have 6 petals each. The decoration is nicely placed on the crock and moves from left to right. Measures 11 1/2" tall.
ExcellentCondition. A series of minor chips on the inner rim where a lid sat (1/4 to minor nibble), some surface wear from use, and a 1/4" stone ping on the front lower right. No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or repairs.
